Prof. Dr. Winfried Petry was a professor at the Physics Department of the Technical University of Munich, head of the Chair of the Institute for Functional Materials (E13) and Scientific Director of the Research Neutron Source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II). From 2011 to March 2018, he also was the Scientific Director at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ).
In 2018, Prof. Petry was appointed Emeritus of Excellence and in this capacity Winfried Petry will continue supporting the Technical University of Munich on its way to the future.
He also will continue serving as advisor to the Bayerische Eliteakademie and as a member of numerous supervisory and advisory committees.
