Postdoc Positions 2026
The Theoretical High-Energy Particle Physics Group at the Physics Department of the Technical University Munich (TUM) plans to make several appointments (salary scale TvL E13) at the postdoctoral level. The appointments are usually for two years starting in the Fall of 2026. They may be extended subject to funding.
Deadline for applications: December 15th, 2025
We seek candidates with a strong track record in the following areas (associated with the research group leaders as given):
1. Collider Physics/Effective Field Theory (M. Beneke)
2. Large-scale Structure (M. Garny)
3. Dark Matter/Neutrinos (A. Ibarra)
4. Scattering Amplitudes and QCD at colliders (L. Tancredi)
5. Beyond the Standard Model (A. Weiler)
The Theoretical High-Energy Particle Physics Group at TUM currently consists of Prof. Beneke, Prof. Buras, Prof. Garbrecht, Dr. Garny, Prof. Ibarra, Prof. Tancredi and Prof. Weiler, and a significant number of postdoctoral fellows, PhD and master students.
The interests of the group over a wide range of topics in particle physics phenomenology and field theory (theoretical collider physics and LHC phenomenology, scattering amplitudes, flavour and top quark physics, CP violation, strong interactions, extensions of the standard model, neutrinos), and in physics of the early Universe (dark matter, baryo- and leptogenesis, inflation) and cosmology (large-scale structure formation, cosmological perturbation theory, new physics from galaxy clustering).
The vicinity of the TUM Institute for Advanced Study, the Max-Planck Institutes for Physics, and for Astrophysics, and in particular of the cluster of excellence "ORIGINS" and the Munich Institute for Astro-, Particle and BioPhysics (MIAPbP), provides a stimulating environment for research.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of their research interests, as well as three letters of recommendation, before December 15th, 2025, via the Academic Jobs Online website.
