Information on Master and Bachelor Theses
Information on bachelor theses
If you are interested in writing your bachelor thesis in the T31 group, first consult the Department webpage for available topics ( here). Topics for the spring of a given year are usually announced on this page in January. Then contact the potential supervisor you are interested in (Prof. Dr. Martin Beneke or PD Dr. Mathias Garny) via email, providing the following information:
- In which topic(s) are you interested?
- What are your preferred starting dates? Are there any constraints from your side?
- Current transcript of records
- Any other courses not listed relevant to a topic in theoretical physics
- Which lectures do you attend currently? Advanced Quantum Mechanics? In the next semester: Relativity, particle, fields?
Information on master theses
If you are interested in writing your master thesis in the T31 group, contact the potential supervisor you are interested in (Prof. Dr. Martin Beneke or PD Dr. Mathias Garny) via email, providing the following information:
- Which direction / topic are you interested (see the T31 webpages on research)?
- Transcripts (bachelor and up-to-date master) of records
- Any other courses not listed relevant to a topic in theoretical physics
- Preferred starting date
Please note that almost always very good results in the QFT course(s) and/or General Relativity and Cosmology are a prerequisite for the master thesis in the T31 group.
